We are so very pleased to be teaming up with REACH for 3 days of FOLKIN' good music...

REACH: Rochester Engaging in Action for the Chronically Homeless

Their Story:

REACH Advocacy was born in 2015 when a group of citizens said "NO" to leaving the chronically homeless out in the cold.

For the past several winters REACH has created and staffed temporary residential care facilities for those homeless persons who were unable to find shelter anywhere else. Following these experiences, they are seeking ways to advocate for the homeless to ensure that they are treated with dignity and respect.

They remain convinced that NO person should be without a safe home and preferably offered affordable permanent housing.

Their Dream:

REACH Advocacy dreams of finding a property near public transportation that will serve as a temporary residential care facility in the coming winter and then be converted into permanent housing for homeless men and women.

They have an amazing crew of volunteers who have cleaned and restored two properties in the past two winters. They believe that this longer vision will enable them to move into a more permanent solution for many of our homeless neighbors.

Their Accomplishments:

• Hundreds of volunteers supported with cleaning, feeding, driving and visiting.

• Housing over 150 guests during the past two winters.

• 40% placed in permanent housing.
