Salat Ali, a recent graduate of Cazenovia College, is raising funds to produce a documentary covering his return to Kenya to visit his mother who he hasn't seen in 13 years, and to document the refugee experience both here in the U.S.A. and in Kenya. Salat's parents were forced to flee Somalia and he was born in a refugee camp in Kenya. At age 11, Salat came to the U.S. with his father and brother, but his mother stayed behind. He know seeks document his travel back to see her for the first time in 13 years.
